UMAPs is pleased to announce it has been granted a date by the High Court for the oral renewal hearing in its judicial review challenging the making and adoption of the Leng Review recommendations. The hearing will take place on 8 September 2026, when UMAPs’ application for permission to proceed will be considered in open court.
This is the outcome we sought when we filed our renewal notice on 23 July 2026. The lawfulness of the decisions taken on 16 July 2025 with regards to the Leng Review remains squarely before the court, and the arguments and evidence in support of our claim will now be tested at an oral hearing rather than merely resolved on paper.
We have absolutely no doubt that this case is arguable. We have full faith in our grounds, in the extensive evidence that underpins them, and in our incredible legal team. We rejected all 19 conclusions reached in the paper refusal and we look forward to demonstrating on 8 September why they cannot survive scrutiny once the evidence is examined properly and in full, in open court.
