Comprehensive Members may access employment-related advice, support, and representation in accordance with Membership, Processes, and Indemnity Provision Policy including:

  • Workplace representation, where appropriate 
  • Support in relation to:
    • Disciplinary proceedings 
    • Capability and sickness absence matters 
    • Redundancy processes 
    • Allegations of misconduct 
    • Whistleblowing concerns 
    • Grievance procedures 
  • Consideration for access to Discretionary Employment Dispute Assistance (DEDA) as set out in the MPIPP
  • Advice and advocacy on health and safety matters 
  • Support in accessing continuing professional development within the workplace 
  • Collective and individual support in relation to lawful industrial action, where applicable 

Comprehensive Members may be considered for access to regulatory, medico-legal, and discretionary fund related support through UMAPs’ Discretionary Secondary Indemnity Cover (DSIC), subject at all times to eligibility, policy terms, and provider conditions as set out in the Membership, Processes, and Indemnity Provision Policy (MPIPP).

Support under DSIC is discretionary and does not constitute an insurance contract or guarantee of funding, representation, or outcome.

Where approved, support may include:

  • Access to UMAPs-arranged group insurance or indemnity arrangements, where applicable
  • Access to a medico-legal advice helpline provided by UMAPs or its appointed providers
  • Support and representation in proceedings before the General Medical Council (GMC) and Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS), where applicable to the member’s role and scope of practice
  • Support and representation in Coroner’s Court proceedings arising from the member’s professional practice
  • Support and representation in criminal proceedings arising directly from the member’s professional practice as a Medical Associate Professional
  • Discretionary support in relation to “Good Samaritan” acts within the United Kingdom, where emergency assistance is provided outside contracted employment

Limitations

All advice, support, representation, access to DSIC, and medico-legal assistance is provided subject to UMAPs’ policies, eligibility requirements, insurer terms where applicable, and professional scope. UMAPs does not guarantee representation, funding, or indemnity in every case. Support may be declined where matters fall outside scope, arise prior to membership, or are otherwise excluded under relevant policies.

Payment Plan

Rate: £540 per year

Payment method:

  • 12 monthly instalments
  • yearly upfront (10% discount)

Membership is entered into as a minimum 12-month term. Following the initial term, membership will automatically renew for successive 12-month periods unless cancelled in accordance with UMAPs MPIPP. Cancellation does not take effect until the end of the active membership term.
